Data Deletion Request

This page is for requests to delete specific data from your FitTrainr Inc. ("FitTrainr") account, while keeping the account itself active. If you want to close the entire account and delete everything tied to it, use the Account Deletion page instead.

1. What You Can Delete Yourself From the App

Most data in FitTrainr can be deleted directly from inside the app — no email or form required. From any record list (body measurements, nutrition logs, workout completions, progress photos, message threads), open the entry and use the delete control. Common examples:

  • Body metrics: open the metric entry → tap the three-dot menu → Delete entry.
  • Nutrition log: open the meal → tap the three-dot menu → Delete entry.
  • Workout completion: open the workout → tap the three-dot menu → Delete completion.
  • Progress photo: open the photo → tap the three-dot menu → Delete photo.
  • Message thread: open the thread → tap the three-dot menu → Delete conversation from my view. Note that the other participant retains their copy unless they delete it too.

2. Requesting Deletion by Email

If you cannot delete a record from inside the app — for example because the record is corrupted, because the delete control is missing, or because you need a record removed from a coach or client's view in addition to your own — email us at support@fittrainr.com.

To help us locate and verify the record, please include:

  • The email address on your FitTrainr account.
  • The type of record (body metric, nutrition log, workout completion, progress photo, message, etc.).
  • When the record was created — even an approximate date helps.
  • A short description of the record so we can identify it without opening unrelated content.
  • Whether you want the record removed from your view only or from both your view and the other party's view (where applicable, for example shared messages or coach-assigned plans).

3. What We Verify Before Deleting

Before processing a request we verify that the request is coming from the account holder. This is a privacy protection — it stops someone else from deleting your records without your authorisation. Verification is normally automatic when a request comes from the email address on file; we may ask follow-up questions if a request comes from a different address or if the record is shared with another user.

4. What We Cannot Delete

Some records cannot be deleted, even on request, because we are legally required to keep them. The most common examples are:

  • Financial transaction records required to be retained under US tax law and accounting standards.
  • Audit and security logs retained for fraud prevention and incident investigation.
  • Records subject to a legal hold — for example a subpoena, preservation order, or court order.

5. How Long It Takes

We aim to action verified deletion requests within fourteen (14) days. Most are completed within a few business days. If we are unable to complete a request within the standard window, we will email you with an updated timeline and the reason for the delay.
